Data Collection and Technical Info
We collect personal information required to facilitate your move (name, contact details, addresses). We also automatically collect technical data when you visit our site, including your IP address, browser type, and usage patterns via cookies to improve the gomove experience.
Purpose of Processing
Your data is used to provide quotes, coordinate moves, process payments, and improve our services. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Sharing Data with Partners
To complete your move, we share your contact information and inventory with the independent moving partner assigned to your job. These partners are legally bound to use this data only for the execution of your move.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary. Financial records are kept for 5 years as required by SARS. Marketing data is retained for 3 years unless you request its deletion sooner.
Direct Marketing and Opt-Out
In accordance with Section 69 of POPIA, you have the right to opt-out of marketing communications. You will always receive operational messages (booking confirmations, etc.), but you can unsubscribe from newsletters at any time.
Data Security and Breach Notification
We use secure encryption to protect your information. In the unlikely event of a data breach, we are committed to notifying the Information Regulator and the affected users as soon as reasonably possible, as required by law.
